Collector Certification Courses

DOT Collector Training

DOT Collector Training is an eight hour class that certifies students as Professional Collectors of urine specimens for drug testing. Students learn the current Department of Transportation regulations (Per CFR title 49 part 40) for collecting a split specimen, and perform practice collections. Students also learn and practice performing unusual collections, such as temperature out of range; suspected adulteration; and shy bladder. Before receiving certificates as Professional Collectors students must successfully complete mock collections and pass a written exam.

DOT BAT Training

Students signing up for the half-day Breath Alcohol Technician class receive a BAT Self Study Course prior to attending class. Students must complete the Self Study Course prior to the class, and must be prepared to pass a written exam on the Self Study materials at the beginning of class.

The half-day class certifies students as proficient in the use of the Alco-Sensor IV when used with the RBT IV system. Students learn to use the instrument and perform the required breath alcohol tests. Students successfully completing the BAT Training course are entitled to the designation of Certified Breath Alcohol Technicians.

Prerequisite: Completion of the BAT Self Study Course (included when registering for this class).

Contact Career Pro Drug Screening for information on future classes. There is a 5 student minimum per class.

Employee & Criminal Background Checking

background_check Hiring an employee doesn't start and end with reading the person's résumé and conducting one-on-one interviews.

As the workforce and the business industries become increasingly competitive, more and more employers are making employee background checks a requisite in their pre-employment procedures.

There are several reasons why employers are demanding employment screenings:

  • To confirm whether an employee matches the qualifications of the position.
  • To determine potential safety risks, threats to physical safety and the security of information the employee might handle in the workplace.
  • To check an employee's personality traits that may be beneficial or detrimental in the workplace.

The types of pre-employment screening that are typically conducted include criminal background checks, credit background checks, drug testing, character reference check, and employment history check, to name a few.

On the other hand, while employment backgrounds checks or background investigations are permitted in most states, every employer must understand that they do not have unlimited rights to explore an applicant's background and personal life. Consulting a professional corporate lawyer would help if you are not sure what type of pre employment background checks are acceptable and up to what extent you can use the results when making hiring decisions.

Generally, the amount of information enclosed on employment background checks largely depends on the sensitivity of the reason for which it is conducted.

Among them include:

  • Criminal, arrest, incarceration, and sex offender records
  • Citizenship, immigration, or legal working status
  • Driving and vehicle record
  • Drug tests
  • Litigation record
  • Education records
  • Employment records
  • Financial information
  • Licensing records
  • Medical, Mental, and Physiological evaluation and records
  • Military records
  • Social Security Number

Career Pro offers extensive background checking services. We also offer individual live county checks pulled from local county court houses. For more information on our background checks, please contact us.

Physical Exams

physical_exam Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examinations are conducted by licensed medical examiners. DOT physical exams are valid for up to 24 months. The medical examiner may also issue a medical examiner’s certificate for less than 24 months when it is desirable to monitor a condition, such as high blood pressure.

The purpose of the DOT Medical Examination is to determine that the driver has no condition that would interfere with the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.

Career Pro Drug Screening provides DOT and Non DOT Physical Examinations conducted by a qualified licensed medical examiner. For more information, please contact us.

Non-DOT Drug Screen Testing

Career Pro Drug Screening offers services for non-DOT drug and alcohol screening. We provide on-site as well as in house solutions for these services. We screen for drug use through several methods including Urine, Hair Follicle and Saliva collections.

Urine Specimen Screening

urine_drug_screen

Urine drug testing is one of the most popular methods of identifying recent drug use. This method can detect the presence of drugs in urine for up to 3-4 days after the drug has entered a person's system.

The big advantage to urine drug testing is that you have the ability to test for many drugs at one time.

Urine tests can detect the following drugs:

  • Cocaine (COC)
  • Marijuana (THC)
  • Opiates (OPI)
  • Oxycodone
  • Methamphetamine (mAMP)
  • Amphetamines (AMP)
  • Phencyclidine (PCP)
  • Benzodiazepines (BZO)
  • Barbiturates (BAR)
  • Methadone (MTD)
  • Tricyclic Antidepressants (TCA)
  • Methaqualone
  • Propoxyphene

Hair Follicle

Hair Follicle Drug Testing is one of the most trusted methods of drug detection today and is used by law enforcement officials, employers and parents alike.

Hair drug test analysis can provide a drug history over a 90-day period. Using a small sample of hair cut at the scalp, hair analysis evaluates the amount of drug metabolites embedded inside the hair shaft.

Hair follicle tests can detect the following drugs:

  • Marijuana (THC)
  • Amphetamines (AMP, mAMP, MDMA & Ecstasy)
  • Cocaine (COC)
  • Oxycodone
  • Opiates (Codeine, Morphine & Heroin Metabolite)
  • Phencyclidine (PCP)

Saliva (Oral) Testing

saliva_drug_screen

Saliva (oral fluids) drug testing is a clean and easy drug screening technique. This method provides fast, accurate results and can detect up to 6 drugs instantly. It is often the preferred method of screening in the workplace and home as it is non-evasive.

Since drugs and drug metabolites (residues) do not remain in oral fluids as long as they do in urine, this method works best in determining current use and impairment. The detection period in saliva is up to 3 days.

Oral fluids (saliva) can detect the following drugs:

  • Cocaine (COC)
  • Marijuana (THC)
  • Opiates/Heroin (OPI)
  • Amphetamine (AMP)
  • Methamphetamine (mAMP)
  • Phencyclidine (PCP)
  • Benzodiazepines (BZO)
